End-Effector the "hand" connected to the robot's arm. It is often different from a human hand - it could be a tool such as a gripper, a vacuum pump, tweezers, scalpel, blowtorch - just about anything that helps it do its job. Some robots can change end-effectors, and be reprogrammed for a different set of tasks. If the robot has more than one arm, there can be more than one end-effector on the same robot, each suited for a specific task.
Energy Star Label The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) evaluate energy-using consumer products to identify models that are the most energy efficient. Consumers save money with Energy Star products because they use less energy than conventional products. This also creates less pollution. Energy Star labels are found on office equipment, home electronics, major household appliances, heating and cooling equipment, residential lighting fixtures, windows, insulation and even new homes.
