Liquid Crystal Displays are used in most digital watches, laptop computers, digital cameras and home control devices, including some programmable thermostats and timers. LED: Light Emitting Diodes are solid state electronic components that look like tiny light bulbs. TV remotes use LEDs to produce the infrared signals that control the set. Many TV remotes also have an LED that glows red to indicate a button is being pushed. Another common use of LEDs is to show that a device is on.
