Manipulator
Is the mechanical ``arm'' or linkage which moves and positions the tool or part in space.
Motion Sensor
This device detects when movement by people (and sometimes by pets and hot air). Motion sensors are commonly used with security systems to detect an intrusion, with light switches to automatically turn lights on when someone enters a room and with office HVAC systems to avoid heating/cooling unoccupied rooms.
Mounting Plate
The plate on the end of the robot arm onto which the tooling or end-effector is mounted.
