Sensor an input device that sends information about its surroundings and lets it know the exact position of the arm, or the state of the world around it. This information in the form of electronic signals, or data. Sensors can provide only limited feedback to the robot so it can do its job. Most robots of today are nearly deaf and blind, compared to the senses and abilities of even the simplest living things.
Single Pole Switch This is a very simple switch that solely controls a light or other device. If more than one wall switch controls the same electrical device, a hallway light for example, then none of those switches can be wired with a single pole switch. See also Three-Way Switch.
Spherical (or Polar) Robot Is a robot whose work envelope is a portion of a sphere. The base can rotate about both a horizontal and vertical line through the base while the arm can slide in and out.
