S T E P stands for Student Training and Education Program and is exactly as its name suggests; an education and scholarship program for students looking to take the next step on their career paths.  

We pride ourselves on being one of the best and we are looking for bright, enthusiastic and dynamic individuals to become part of our team.

Our ideal candidate:

S T E P is a program for university students in various technical fields, such as:

• electrical engineering
• process engineering
• chemical engineering
• supply engineering
• related disciplines

The program will be opened up to commercial fields based on requirements.

Program Requirements:

• completion of an initial internship at M+W Zander FE GmbH
• above average university grades
• highly qualified apprentices looking to start university
• good knowledge of German and English
• interest in an international company and working abroad
• motivated, enthusiastic, ambitious team players
• individuals with commitment to the greater community (volunteer work)
• Link and contact person between the university and company

What we offer:

Participant in the S T E P program will receive much more than financial assistance, including…  

• internships and the opportunity to write their university thesis and become a part of our team
• an interest-free loan in the amount of € 300,00 per month
• work during semester breaks and perhaps even travel abroad
• meet regularly with a personal mentor
• have access to industry experts working on the cutting edge of their field
• have access to our professional development programs (i.e. English courses, project management, communication or presentation training)
• a job at M+W Zander FE GmbH upon graduation

Contract Details:

The basis of acceptance in the program is built into a University Advancement Contract between M+W Zander FE GmbH and the student. The contract is made up of three parts:

1. General Agreement to Education and Training Program
2. Financial/Loan Agreement
3. Miscellaneous

Included in the "General Agreement to Education and Training Program" are the general rules and regulations between M+W Zander FE GmbH and the S T E P student, including timeframe and notice period.

The second part "Financial/Loan Agreement" includes concrete rules to management of the interest-free loan. Within this contract fall rules to timeframe and amount of the loan, as well as an agreement to 'situation based pay back' like specifications to period of commitment after graduation.

Status Quo:

So far in 2008 two students have joined our S T E P program and several other candidates are being evaluated. Students from the supply and environmental engineering (6th semester) as well as foreign trade discipline (2nd semester) have completed their vocational training at M+W Zander and are now pursuing a university degree. Of course we would like to be able to welcome students who have not yet come in contact with M + W Zander and who are interested in working in a cooperative, international and professionally challenging work environment.
