Polishing plant for aluminum parts
Due to the special properties of aluminum, its importance for the automotive industry is steadily increasing. In the meantime, body parts and even complete car bodies are being fabricated out of aluminum. Before going to the paint shop, these parts have to be polished and aluminum dust will develop. Not only can this dust be harmful to the workers health, but it might also be highly explosive.
To minimize the risk of dust explosions and to prevent accidents, M+W Zander supplies complete polishing plants, designed to meet specific requirements. Each plant consists of a cabin, where aluminum parts will be polished, an exhaust system for the aluminum dust and a special filtering system for the removal of the dust.
To prevent any dust from settling down inside the cabin, and therefore representing a hazard, high air exchange rates are maintained continuously. By using appropriate materials for the plant parts, the units are protected against ignition sources such as electrostatic discharges or sparks. Our filtering system is designed to comply with the highest safety requirements. Due to the pressure proof design, the filterhousing will not be deformed should an explosion occur. A pressure detector reacts to any critical rise of the pressure inside and activates a fast closing gate, which in combination with a explosion protection jack valve, contains the explosion safely inside.
We will build a complete polishing plant according to your requirements, including the polishing cabin, the make up air and exhaust system, the explosion-proof filter system and all the necessary tools and fixtures. By deploying our system, you will ensure the safety of your employees and the continuous and safe operation of your production.
