Ecological assessment is more than a declaration of compliancy with the prescribed limits. Ecological assessment implies the recording, quantification and assessment of the profusion of ecological impact engendered by technological plants and production processes.
The ecological evaluation of emissions with a constant rate of flow is achieved by means of various universally applied processes. These comprise estimations of the toxic risks, the global warming potential, the prospective development of the troposphere’s ozone structure, or other ecological consequences of the tested emissions in relation to the variety of standards set by today’s civilization.
After examination of the monitored emission within its’ relevant context, the objective, as a rule, is to present a verdict as to whether the resulting estimate classifies as “significant” or “insignificant”. It often involves the compilation of a ranking, to illustrate which different environmental protection measures seen in their entirety, are most effective. Or, one wants to record the particular ecological consequences of a certain action – e.g. the whole global warming situation, which entails the consideration of all preceding circumstances.
